To launch Excelerate Energy’s rebrand in 2021, I produced a video that showcased the company’s new identity and brand promise of providing secure, reliable energy to countries that need it most.

Excelerate Energy Rebrand Video

STS Timelapse Video

Ship-to-ship (STS) LNG transfers were a relatively new type of operation in the LNG industry in 2012. Excelerate Energy not only pioneered the process, but it was also one of the few companies actively performing the operation on a daily basis at the time. To make the concept of STS LNG transfers more tangible to those unfamiliar with the procedure, I produced a time-lapse video demonstrating the “simplicity” of the operation. The video became an educational tool for potential customers and LNG vessels calling to Excelerate’s terminals.

FSRU Explorer

Project video highlighting how Excelerate Energy gave new life to an older ship and made it one of the most capable FSRUs in the industry. I conceptualized the video to dispel the impression that new ships equated to better performance, a claim Excelerate’s competitors were promoting as a market advantage. As a result, the video helped demonstrate how the age of an asset is not important if you have the right technical partner.

Moheshkhali Floating LNG (MLNG) Terminal Educational Animation

An LNG terminal requires the careful coordination of several government agencies and local partners to ensure safe and seamless operations. And with MLNG being the first LNG terminal in Bangladesh, Excelerate’s operations team needed to convey to the various local project stakeholders, who had never worked in the LNG industry before, precisely all that would be involved in this first-of-its-kind operation. I worked closely with the technical and operations team to outline the project components. The animation has no sound and was used during presentations as a backdrop to explain the various steps and procedures.

Why does the United States import natural gas when it’s one of the largest gas producers in the world? That was a question many residents and government officials in the New England area were asking after LNG imports into Boston made headlines. In response, I produced an animation to help explain, in simplified terms, why LNG imports help support New England’s energy grid during extreme cold spells. I shared the video link with local reporters to help clarify how LNG imports are a better alternative than burning diesel fuel during peak winter demand.

Northeast Gateway: Why LNG?

A floating LNG terminal is a significant undertaking that requires the coordination of numerous components from different parts of the world during an extended period of time – something well worth documenting. As a best practice, I produced project videos for every terminal built while I was at Excelerate. I worked with our technical and operations team ahead of the construction process to determine which milestones to document and the appropriate people to interview. From there, I would create a storyboard and help coordinate the different locations and access points with the film production company. The project videos documented the various steps required to complete a floating LNG project while showing Excelerate’s real-life experience in building these unique terminals.
